During their flowering period, cyclamens are visually impressive with their sloping flower heads, which, depending on the species, have a pleasant scent. If the flowers are exhausted, they wilt. But what now?

How to care for cyclamen after flowering?
After the flowering period, the cyclamen begins its resting phase. In order to care for the plant optimally, withered flowers should be plucked out, repotted if necessary, fertilizer doses should be stopped and watered more sparingly. Do not cut back the cyclamen, it will retreat into the tuber on its own.
Planting cyclamen in pots
If the cyclamen in the pot has finished flowering in April, it does not need to be thrown away. It can spend the summer in the garden. Simply plant it in a shady spot, for example under bushes or trees. In late summer you will recoup it.
Care – some changes are needed here
Since the rest phase of several weeks begins after the flowering period, care should be adjusted to avoid damage to or overstressing the plant:
- Plucking out wilted flowers
- if applicable repot
- Adjust fertilizer doses
- water more economically
