How do you water a Venus flytrap correctly?
Water your Venus flytrap by filling a saucer with 1-2 cm of water and placing the pot in it. Only use rainwater or still mineral water, never tap water. The plant should never be watered from above.
Watering the Venus flytrap using the damming process
It's best to pour your Venus flytrap over a saucer. The saucer is filled with one to two centimeters of water and the pot is placed in it.
If the moisture has been absorbed, wait two days and then add more liquid to the saucer.
Never water with tap water
The Venus flytrap cannot tolerate calcareous tap water. Only use rainwater for watering.
If rainwater is not available, you can also use still mineral water. Distilled water, on the other hand, should only be given in exceptional cases. It no longer contains the minerals that the plant needs for he althy growth.
Tip
If possible, never water Venus flytraps from above. If necessary, you can wet the leaves with a water syringe (€9.00 on Amazon) to increase the humidity.
