Hemp palms are very robust in contrast to most other types of palm trees. They are hardy and can tolerate temperatures down to -18 degrees. You can therefore easily plant a hemp palm in the garden. For this you need older plants that you have previously cared for in the pot.
When and how should you plant a hemp palm?
A hemp palm should be planted at the end of May when it is at least 3-4 years old. Choose a bright, wind-protected location without waterlogging and prepare a deep planting hole. Improve the soil with compost, plant the palm tree, water it and protect it with burlap or garden fleece in the first winter.

For a hemp palm to survive frosty temperatures, it needs to be a certain age. Very young hemp palms would freeze to death outside. Only plant specimens in the garden that are more than three or four years old.

Tip
When planting a hemp palm, you should maintain a sufficient distance from buildings and walls. Since hemp palms can grow up to ten meters high outdoors, you must assume a space requirement of four to six square meters.
