How do gas and electrically operated flame burners differ?
Flaming devices are relatively inexpensive and therefore widely used. The gas cartridge on the handle allows you to remain flexible and can also work in remote corners of large properties. However, if you have to clear the entire garage entrance of weeds, you are tied to a heavy propane gas bottle.
In contrast to these devices, electric weed burners do not work with an open flame, but with an air flow of up to 650 degrees generated by a heating coil. What should I pay attention to when buying an electric weed burner?
Especially when you have to work on larger areas, it is important that the handle fits well in the hand. The device shouldn't be too heavy because you can't put it directly on the ground, but rather hold it over the weeds. There is usually an integrated stand with which you can put the weed burner down and let it cool down after work.
The application
This one is very simple:
- Connect the electric weed killer directly to a power outlet. To increase the radius, you can use an extension cable.
- The device is started at the push of a button.
- Aim the hot air stream precisely at the weed for a few seconds.
- To save electricity, don't wait until the greens are charred. The very short application time is completely sufficient.
The effect will only become visible a few hours later. The plants wilt and dry out completely within a few days, so they can be easily removed or swept away.

If the areas are heavily weeded, it may be necessary to repeat the application. This is also the case if numerous weed seeds have accumulated in the joints and germinate again. Over time, you can noticeably increase the intervals of this very effective method of weed destruction.
