Mechanical scraping

- The optimal filling depth has been reached when you can only press a spatula a few millimeters into the joint material.

Boiling water
Pasta or potato water, which is regularly produced in the kitchen anyway, is a good way to permanently get rid of weeds growing in the joints. Pour the hottest possible liquid directly onto the weed plants. These die and the seeds are also rendered harmless by the heat.

You should avoid these because these supposedly harmless substances penetrate the earth.
