Flowers as a bouquet or in a pot are popular gifts at birthdays, weddings, parties or other festive occasions. Bouquets are usually packaged nicely in the flower shop, but flower pots rarely come with packaging. The beauty of the flower certainly speaks for itself, but pretty packaging is an additional eye-catcher.

How do I wrap a flower pot as a gift?

You pack a flower pot using different materials, such as wrapping paper, decorative ribbons, corrugated cardboard, silk or jute ribbon. Alternatively, place the flower pot on a paper plate or in a wooden box. Decorative items, plants, flowers, greeting cards or accessories for the garden go well with the pot.

Ways to pack a flower pot

There are countless ways to pack a flower pot nicely. Depending on your personal taste, a simple wrapping paper or cellophane with a bow and nice decorative items is sufficient. There are no limits to your personal imagination.

possible packaging materials:

  • colorful paper plate as a coaster
  • Wrapping paper in different qualities
  • newspaper
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Decorative ribbons, raffia, silk ribbon, jute ribbon
  • Wooden box
  • made boxes made of cardboard or construction paper

Flower pot in cake lace

You will need an old beer mat, transparent adhesive tape, a beautiful cake topper, various decorative ribbons depending on the occasion and transparent film.

  1. Place the beer mat (or a piece of cardboard the same size) in the center of the cake top.
  2. Place the flower pot on the lid.
  3. Now carefully lift the cake tip from all sides up to the edge of the flower pot.
  4. Try to create regular folds.
  5. Glue the tip together with tape by sticking the tape on one side under the edge of the flower pot and then wrapping it around the pot. This is how the tip holds together.
  6. Now you can tie one or more decorative ribbons of your choice around the pot. If the band slips, secure it with the clear tape.
  7. Now pull the tip down a little so that it lies like a wreath around the flower.
  8. Now take a piece of cling film that is at least three times as long as the flower is tall.
  9. Place the flower in the middle of the cling film and bring the corners of the film together up over the flower.
  10. Press the film that protrudes to the side loosely onto the flower pot and attach it again with transparent adhesive tape (run the adhesive tape around just under the edge of the pot and let it overlap).
  11. Now tie the foil together a little above the flower with a decorative ribbon.

Flower pot in shoebox

If you don't want to wrap the flower in paper, you can make a pretty planter to give as a gift. A used shoe box, for example, is suitable for this. To do this, reduce the size of the box so that there is just enough room for the flower pot. Shorten the side parts, bend the bottom up as the fourth side and secure it with adhesive tape. Now you can spice up the box as you wish with:

  • small paintings
  • lots of colorful stickers
  • glued colored paper
  • various tips

Just let your imagination run wild. Now place the flower in the pot. The flower looks even more elegant when packaged in transparent film.
