Frangipani, also called plumeria, is not entirely easy to care for. If you make mistakes when growing, the houseplant will suffer from diseases, not grow or even die. What you need to consider when growing frangipani.
How do you grow frangipani?
To successfully grow frangipani you need a sunny location, temperatures above 15 degrees, regular watering without waterlogging, fertilization from spring until flowering begins and a winter break with reduced watering and no fertilizer.
Important requirements for growing frangipani
The plumeria is unfortunately not only poisonous, but also a little tricky to care for. Only if you satisfy the Frangipani's requirements for the following points will you be able to enjoy the beautiful, fragrant flowers for a long time:

The right location
Frangipani is at home in the tropics. It is very bright and warm there. Place the plant in a spot where it will receive as much sun as possible. She doesn't like drafts or frequent changes.
Don’t keep frangipani too cool
Plumeria does not tolerate low temperatures. It should never be colder than 15 degrees at the location. If you grow frangipani on the terrace, bring it back into the house in time for autumn.
Water and fertilize frangipani correctly
In summer, frangipani needs a lot of moisture without the substrate becoming too moist. Water regularly as soon as the top layer of soil has dried. Do not wet the leaves with water!
Plumeria needs sufficient nutrients, but you must avoid over-fertilization. Fertilization is carried out at fortnightly intervals from spring until flowering begins. Be sure to stick to the dosage indicated for frangipani.
Don’t repot too often
It is enough if you repot frangipani every three to five years. More frequent transplanting stresses the plant and leads to stunted leaves.
How to overwinter frangipani
In winter, the frangipani likes a bright location with an ambient temperature of at least 15 degrees. Since plumeria needs a rest period of four to six months, you should only water it very sparingly during the winter and not fertilize it. You may only give fertilizer until flowering begins.
After overwintering, carefully accustom the frangipani to warm temperatures and direct sunlight.
Tip
If the frangipani trunk becomes a little wrinkled in winter, it is normal. You should therefore not water the plant more frequently.
