Propagating a money tree is incredibly easy and even beginners can do it without any problems. All you need for propagation is a penny tree, a few pots and suitable potting soil. This is how you get new offshoots from your money tree.
How to propagate a money tree?
A money tree can be propagated by three methods: top cuttings, leaf cuttings and seeds. For head and leaf cuttings, the interfaces should dry for a few days before being placed in potting soil. For seeds, an indoor greenhouse is recommended.
Methods for Propagating Money Trees
There are three methods to propagate a money tree:

- Use leaf cuttings
- Growing money tree from seeds
Propagation via head cuttings
To grow offshoots from top cuttings, cut off a few shoots of the money tree in spring. They should be about ten centimeters long. Remove the lower leaves and allow the cut areas to dry for two to three days.
Then put the cuttings into prepared cultivation pots (€6.00 on Amazon) that you have filled with a mixture of cactus soil and mineral substances such as gravel or granules. Place the pots in a bright, warm place out of direct sunlight.
The roots form within a few weeks. The offshoots will then be maintained as normal.
Simply grow the cuttings in a glass of water
Another way to grow cuttings from the money tree is to place the cuttings in a glass of water.
The delicate roots form there within a short time. If the roots are around two to three centimeters long, plant the cuttings in individual pots. Continue to care for her normally.
Propagate money tree from leaves
You can also grow new money trees simply from leaves. Cut off a few leaves and let them dry for a few days. Prepare growing pots with substrate that you moisten well. Now all you have to do is place the leaves on the substrate and press them lightly.
