Why does my camellia have yellow leaves?
Yellow leaves on camellias can be caused by a lack of nutrients, a lack of water, air that is too dry, irrigation water that contains lime, too much sun or a location that is too warm. Check plant conditions and adjust if necessary to correct the problem.
Therefore, you should react immediately at the first signs of damage to your camellia. Yellow leaves can have very different causes. Insufficient humidity or water supply can be the reason, as can a location that is too warm or too sunny. Often the soil is not acidic enough because water containing lime is used or the wrong fertilizer is used.

How can I help my camellia?
If your camellia is in an unsuitable place, changing its location is the first step you should take. Camellias prefer it cool to warm, so in principle they are not houseplants, even if they are often offered as such in stores. A location in full sun outdoors is also unsuitable.
Also check the ground or soil. If it is too dry, water your camellia thoroughly. If the soil is too wet, replace it with dry soil. It is best to use rhododendron soil (€20.00 on Amazon), it offers an optimal pH value for your camellia.
Is it bad if my camellia loses leaves?
Camellias are evergreen plants, so they don't lose their leaves in autumn. Nevertheless, the individual leaves do not live forever, but only about three years. Some leaf loss is therefore completely normal. However, if your camellia loses too many leaves at once, you should get to the bottom of the cause.
