The noble geranium (bot. Pelargonium grandiflorum), which originally comes from South Africa, is a very popular house and garden plant that does not tolerate frost. In this point it differs significantly from geraniums (bot. Geranium), also known as storksbills.
Which location do noble geraniums prefer?
Noble geraniums prefer a location in the room, garden bed or balcony with a sunny to shady orientation, protected from wind and rain. Temperatures below 10 °C and blazing midday sun should be avoided. A bright location promotes the flowers.
Where do noble geraniums feel particularly at home?
You can cultivate noble geraniums both inside in the living room or winter garden as well as outside on the balcony or in the garden. Since they cannot tolerate frost, they should only be planted after the ice saints in a bright, ideally sheltered place. You can easily overwinter the perennial plants.
