Many of the different room ferns are classified as at least slightly poisonous, but the nest fern, which is quite easy to care for, is considered non-toxic. Nevertheless, it should not necessarily be nibbled on by your cat. So you can be sure that nothing will happen.
Is the nest fern poisonous to cats?
The nest fern is known to be a non-toxic houseplant and therefore poses no danger to pets. However, cats should be prevented from nibbling on it to avoid possible irritation.
The leaves of the nest fern can reach a length of about one meter. Depending on the species, they are more or less curled. Depending on its natural location, it prefers shade or partial shade. Since it always grows a little towards the light, you should rotate it regularly if the light does not reach the plant from all sides.
The humidity should ideally be around 60 to 70 percent and the temperature should not fall below 16 °C. Room temperatures between 18 °C and 22 °C are optimal.
