What is the easiest way to attach stones to a stream?
UseTrasscement (also called composite cement) to permanently attach stones to the stream. Trass cement is almost waterproof, so that the stones cannot be washed away. Place the stones in the still wet cement and allow everything to harden thoroughly.
What should I pay attention to when attaching the stones to the stream?
Always only mix as much trass cement as you can currently process. Otherwise it will harden too quickly and you will have problems designing your stream. When processing, be sure to pay attention to themanufacturer information, for example, which outside temperatures are suitable. As a substructure, the stream bed should already bewell prepared.
How do I prepare the stream for paving with stones?
Dig the ground in the area of the planned stream up to the garden pond or collecting basin. Clear the soil of stones and roots and shape the stream bed. Add a layer ofsand for protectionand pond fleece. This is followed by a waterproof layer of pond liner. Now place the stones. Also pay attention to the correctslope of at least 2 percent, ideally between 3 and 5 percent. Fill in the gaps with gravel and suitable plants.
Why do you have to attach the stones to the stream?
Not all stones need to be attached additionally. Larger stones have a large weight. They will not be washed away by water if they are secure. However, fastening can make sense, especially attransitions, barrages or waterfallsin order to create particularly beautiful constructions. Here the water current is stronger and the stones are washed away more easily. It is also useful to use trass cement to attach small stones or pebbles to the edge of the pond. On steep walls the stones slip easily and the pond liner becomes visible.
How can I attach the stones to the stream without trass cement?
You can also attach smaller stoneswith clear epoxy resin. Or you can use a stone foil (a foil that already has stones on it). At the edges and gaps you can hide unsightly but necessary elements such as the pond liner or the water hose. Larger stones must be installed in a stable manner so that they do not slip and cause damage.

You can also seal a stream without a pond liner. However, you will then need another waterproof layer. Concrete is suitable for this and you add a sealing powder to it to make it waterproof. Place the stones into the still wet concrete according to the desired design and allow everything to harden thoroughly.
