The lavender heather is poisonous. But this doesn't stop plant lovers from planting them. After all, it impresses with its evergreen foliage and its rich and colorful flowers. But where does she feel best looked after?
Where should the lavender heather be planted?
The ideal location for the lavender heather is a semi-shady to shady place that is protected from wind, midday heat and winter sun. The soil should be humus, permeable, moist, slightly acidic and low in lime.
Part shade to shade in a sheltered location
In full sun, the shade bell is stressed and tends to dry out. A layer of mulch (€27.00 on Amazon) should be the be-all and end-all here. A semi-shady to shady spot that is protected from wind, midday heat and winter sun is ideal.
Since the shadow bell has similar requirements to rhododendrons, ferns and hostas, it can happily be placed next to them. In order to keep the subsequent maintenance effort to a minimum, the floor should have the following features:
- humos
- permeable
- moist
- slightly sour
- calcareous
