How should you properly overwinter water lilies?
The species is crucial for overwintering water lilies: Hardy varieties should be taken out of the pond in November and kept in water in a frost-free room, while tropical species should be kept indoors at a water temperature of 23-25°C from the end of September a lot of light needs to be overwintered.
Winter hardy water lily species
Although native water lilies are sufficiently hardy, they can freeze to death in winter if the water depth is too shallow. Here's how to overwinter them properly:
