Weeding and loosening up the soil a little: This work occurs regularly in the ornamental and kitchen garden. With the right equipment, these not-so-popular activities become easier. In the following article we present to you:
Which tool is suitable for weeding?
Weeding effectively is possible with the right tools such as sow tooth, hoe, pendulum hoe, cross hoe, weeding hoe, weeding loop, root cutter, weed cutter, joint knife and flame device. The choice of tool depends on the type of weed and the area of application.

take a closer look and explain how the devices work.
Sauzahn
This device has a single, curved tine which is equipped with a share. Depending on the intended use, the tool is available with a long handle and a small version with a short handle. With the sow tooth you can loosen the soil without disturbing the soil layers and can easily pick out weeds.
Hoe
These are available in different versions with rounded, trapezoidal, movable or double blades as well as in wide or very narrow versions. This means that this garden tool can be easily tailored to the respective purpose.
Below are some examples:
Pendulum hoe
This device was forgotten for a long time. Due to growing environmental awareness, the pendulum hoe is experiencing a renaissance. The double-edged, movable steel blade of this hoe cuts weeds just below the top layer of soil. You don't have to remove the weeds, you can leave them in the bed as a layer of mulch.
Cross hoe
This tool, which is available in a version with a long handle and handle, is well suited for removing weeds in beds. The soil is loosened up so that weeds can be easily picked out.
Weeding hoe
This features a sharp blade that is dragged through the ground. Weeds are cut off while at the same time the soil is loosened up but not disturbed. This tool enables targeted work and is therefore very suitable for weeding between closely spaced plants.
Weeding loop
This device is similar to the pendulum hoe. The weeding sling has a metal loop that is pulled through the ground. Here the roots of the weeds are cut. Since the loop stands firmly, you can work with the device without injuring neighboring plants.
Root cutter
Herbs like dandelions have long taproots that reach deep into the earth. With the root cutter (€8.00 on Amazon) you can pierce the soil on the side of the plant and lift it out of the ground.
Weeder
This can be used to easily remove weeds with taproots that do not exceed a certain size. The gripping arms are positioned directly over the center of the plant. Thanks to the lever effect of the device, the weeds are pulled completely out of the ground without any effort.
Joint knife
With the joint knife you can mechanically scrape growths out of the cracks between the paving stones. This is relatively easy due to the shape of this tool.
flaming device
Weed burners are operated electrically or with gas. This means weeds can be removed from large, paved areas with relatively little effort. The weeds that have dried up due to the heat can then be swept away.
Tip
If you want to prevent weed seeds from sprouting again and again, you should cover the ground with a five to ten centimeter thick layer of mulch. You can use grass clippings, bark mulch or compost mulch for this purpose.
