Which plants go well with lilacs in garden design?

What factors should you consider when combining lilac?
In order to show off the fabulously beautiful blooming and pleasantly scented lilac, you should consider the following factors when choosing companion plants:
- Flower color: violet, blue-violet, white or pink, rarely yellow
- Flowering time: April to June
- Location requirements: sunny, permeable, dry and nutrient-rich soil

Combine lilac with scented jasmine
The lilac and the scented jasmine make a fantastic duo when combined with each other. These two flowering trees produce their incredibly sensory-stimulating flowers at about the same time. While you first inhale the scent of the lilac, you can immediately move on to the scent of jasmine and immerse yourself in the floral scent. A violet to blue-violet lilac goes fantastically with the white scented jasmine.
Combine lilac with weigela
Another brilliant composition is created from lilac and weigela. They both like sunny and rather dry locations and produce their flowers in April. Since they achieve a similar growth rate and their growth matches each other, they fit wonderfully next to each other in a hedge.

Lilac in a bouquet can be combined with numerous flowers that are also present in spring. Typically yellow buttercups are the perfect counterpart to purple lilacs.
